Embark on a timeless journey through glorious countryside aboard our beautifully restored heritage carriages to the historic city of Bath, a city steeped in history and refined beauty.

This trip will be hauled by a vintage diesel locomotive from Ipswich as far as West London, where we will be joined by our magnificent steam locomotive for the picturesque journey to Bath. Sit back and relax as you enjoy the passing scenery and serene beauty of Wiltshire before arriving in the Georgian city of Bath.

Renowned for its golden Georgian architecture, Bath evokes scenes from a Jane Austen novel. From the majestic Royal Crescent to the ancient Roman Baths, the city is a treasure trove of history and culture.

After a memorable visit, we’ll reconvene at the station and welcome you back on board for a relaxing journey home.

Destinations

Bath

Nestled in the rolling hills of Somerset, the city of Bath is a masterpiece of Georgian elegance and Roman heritage. Its honey-gold stone crescents, sweeping terraces, and grand abbey tower over cobbled streets where history lingers at every turn. Visitors can trace the footsteps of ancient Romans through the remarkably preserved baths, or wander the graceful architecture of the Royal Crescent and Circus. Independent shops, inviting tearooms, and the serene banks of the River Avon add charm, while the surrounding countryside offers picturesque walks and timeless English vistas. Bath is a place where past and present flow together seamlessly, offering culture, relaxation, and beauty in equal measure.
